What is a Capsule Wardrobe? & How I'm Creating One This Season!
A capsule wardrobe consists of a few staple pieces that can be worn repeatedly throughout the seasons, which is what I’ve been working to create for myself over this past month. Having a capsule wardrobe will save you time and money, and is an overall more sustainable way to shop!
Throughout this past year, I’ve already started to focus on quality versus quantity when it comes to clothes. I’m starting to appreciate nice basics more as time goes on. I love pieces that I can mix and match with other items, and wear for long periods of time.
I also am realizing the importance of investing in pieces that may be a bit more costly in the moment, but will last a lot longer. For this blog post we’re keeping things reasonable though (most of the featured pieces are from Zara).
I had a photoshoot a couple few weeks back and focused on mostly neutral colored pieces and pops of green (which seems to be a popular color this season).
When you’re getting ready to buy staple pieces for your closet, think about what colors you enjoy wearing the most, and start with searching for high quality basics in those colors. Try to stick with a few colors that can easily be mixed and matched with each other, and continue building from there! You can purchase pieces within that color family for various seasons, and will be able to create a number of outfits that can be worn throughout the year!
Keep scrolling to see how I styled the pieces I recently along with a few other accessories from ASOS and Pretty Little Thing.
